Some facts about Zacky Vengeance

He and M. Shadows (lead vocalist) formed the band when they were in high school. He has released a clothing line called Vengeance University. It is currently available only in the USA and Canada but is soon to be released in other countries. During high school, Zacky was a talented baseball player and says he would probably have made a career out of baseball if he wasn't in Avenged Sevenfold. Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance often play guitar back-to-back since Synyster is right-handed and Zacky is left-handed, this is visually appealing and has become a mainstay of the band's live shows. Biography

In the Avenged Sevenfold DVD "All Excess" he recalls that before Avenged Sevenfold, he played in a one time punk band called MPA*, which stood for "Mad Porno Action". He implies that they were not successful, and was arrested after their concert for supposedly "stealing all the mics." He and M. Shadows (who at the time was singer for the band Successful Failure) formed Avenged Sevenfold. He took the name Zacky Vengeance, stating that he had grudges against many people who doubted his success. He was also responsible for the creation of the acronym "A7X". Stating that the 'A' stood for avenged, and then the 7 stood for seven and the X was for fold . He is also left-handed. He taught himself how to play the guitar when he was thirteen. The guitar he first learned on was actually his dad's, and was a right-handed model that he played upside-down. Baker has stated that there are many bands that influence him. "I still love the heavy bands. I love... Danny Elfman and Elvis Costello. [It's] all over the place - I think that's the best way to be." Baker has been sponsored by Schecter Guitar Research since 2004, and has custom S-1 models out. He uses Seymour Duncan Pickups in all of his guitars and is currently a featured artist on the company's website along with Synyster Gates. His brother, Matt Baker, is a member of the band The Dear & Departed. He also has a sister named Zina Baker. Contrary to popular belief, Zacky's middle name is not Jonathan, he stated this himself on a Vengeance University MySpace blog. His middle name is James.

 

Vengeance University

 Zacky V. Presents... logoBaker released a clothing line called "Zacky V. Presents...". The current design features the popular "Vengeance University" logo, which Zacky designed himself. The line currently features t-shirts and belt buckles, featuring his trademark "Est. 6661" tagline on it. 6661 flipped upside-down and backwards is 1999. This is when Avenged Sevenfold was formed.

 

Trivia
He has a dog called Ichabod C. for whom he made a myspace page. He is half German and half Italian. He used to play baseball on a scholarship in High School and if he hadn't gone on to play in Avenged Sevenfold he would have pursued a career in professional baseball. He used to work in a coffee shop. He is left-handed
